department has evolved into a tertiary level referral center for
this region. Emergency internal medicine is an important area
and this
department deals with all types of cases like fever of unknown
origin, infections like malaria, dengue, typhoid and other
diseases like water borne diseases, communicable diseases,
nutritional, metabolic and endocrine diseases, anemia and other
hematological disorders, basic cardiac, respiratory and
neurological workup for referral to the respective departments
apart from treating acute and chronic poisonings.
